This position may be hybrid or remote. Candidates must reside in the Capital Region of New York State.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serves as a subject matter expert for NextGen (EHR system), providing guidance on system functionality, best practices, workflow optimization, and user support.
- Reviews patient encounters and monitors for missed charges. Enters charges when able and confers with provider as needed.
- Submit and verify charges for remote audiologist and allergy department vial prep as well as hearing aid and sleep charges.
- Daily Encounter Maintenance Validation
- Maintenance of Unique Patient Charts – Merges Duplicate Charts
- Manage Luma Accounts and Access as well as open tickets and troubleshooting with NextGen.
- Prepares training material and conducts training classes in either virtual or in-person settings for new workflows.
- Adheres to best practices regarding information security.
- Provides remote and/or on-site support as needed to end-users in using the NextGen application.
- Assists in the preparation of department guidelines, standards, procedures, and policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2 – 3 years of experience in healthcare administration required.
- Consistent professional conduct, meticulous attention to detail, critical thinking skills and a positive attitude are essential.
- Proficient computer skills including ability to master the EHR and practice management software; Experience with NextGen preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as well as interpersonal skills with patients, providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies
- Demonstrate verbal and written communication in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
- This position requires excellent organization and time management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task.
Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $23 to $30. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, education, experience, and qualifications
