Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and post-treatment care to enhance their dental health journey.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Support infection control procedures by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth clinic operations, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow efficiently.
- Stay current with advancements in dental terminology, dental coding, and best practices in general dentistry.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Denticon, etc.)
- Anesthesia certificate is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to accurately perform vital signs assessment and interpret medical imaging results.
- Excellent patient care skills.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy and data security.
