Overview: Provide direct client services to increase access to health care and improve the quality and appropriateness of LGBTQI health and human services. Services will improve health outcomes and quality of life for LGBTQI individuals and families by promoting health equity, striving to ensure full and equal access to affirming health and human services and eliminating bias and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Reports to: Program Manager II

Status: Part Time (20 hrs.), Hourly: $23.50/hour

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in human services, public health, or a related field or associate's degree with 2 years’ experience working with the LGBTQI community. Experience and knowledge of the target populations and service systems may substitute for the education requirement. AIDS Institute Peer Certification is a plus.

2. Knowledge of Ending the Epidemic goals, HIV/STD/HCV prevention, testing, and care, and PrEP/PEP.

3. Comfort and knowledge of the diversity (ethnic, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, etc.) of our multicultural community.

4. Professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and ability to interact with a wide range of personalities.

5. Time management and organizational skills with managing multiple tasks and priorities.

6. Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook and E-mail.

7. The ability to work a flexible schedule with some evenings and weekends as needed.

8. Valid, unrestricted driver's license and independent means of transportation.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide direct client services, including individual peer counseling, advocacy, escort, job readiness assessments, job readiness counseling, job placement, and housing placement assistance for members of the LGBTQI community.

2. Provide referrals and ensure the receipt of services to address barriers to the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).

3. Provide status-neutral access to medical services, including HIV/STI/HCV testing, treatment, and access to PrEP & PEP.

4. Assist Program Manager II in data collection, analysis, and AIDS Institute reporting.

5. Arrange for Drop-in Center presentations/lectures and provide outreach through drop-in center activities, community tabling, and social media.

6. Document and enter services, progress notes, and required forms into the agency EHR, AIRS, and Unite Us within 48 hours of the client's session.

7. Ensure compliance with Article 27F HIV Confidentiality Law and HIPPA confidentiality for all interactions.

8. Always model and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients, staff, volunteers, and community partners.

9. Attend full staff meetings and exceed the required 12 hours of annual training.

10. Fully engage in self-care to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

11. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
