POSITION: Maintenance Mechanic I

DEPARTMENT: Albany County Water Purification District

SALARY RANGE: $47,606-$50,645

WORK LOCATION & HOURS: Albany, NY, 7:00A-3:30P M-F

DESCRIPTION:

An employee in this class does semi-skilled and routine manual work in performing a variety of tasks connected with installation,
maintenance and repair of the mechanical systems and equipment in a Type 4A sewage treatment facility. Employees usually work
under the immediate supervision of a higher-ranking department employee. Occasionally on less complex jobs, the incumbent may

work independently and, in some cases, oversee the work of laborers or subordinate staff. Does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school, possession of a high school equivalency diploma, or a high school individual education plan diploma

AND EITHER:

A. One (1) year of experience in the maintenance of mechanical equipment; OR,

B. Completion of Albany County Water Purification District Apprenticeship Program for the title.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Eligibility for and possession of a valid New York State driver’s license at time of appointment and throughout employment.
