POSITION: Aquatic Recreation Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation
SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$70,000
WORK LOCATION: 420 Western Ave, Albany, NY 12203 & 21 Cayuga St., Cohoes, NY 12047
HOURS: 8:00A-4:00P; Some evenings/weekend as needed depending on program & event schedule

DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction, the Aquatics Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the creation, promotion, implementation, and pro-
gramming activities for all aquatics programs, classes, and activities within Albany County recreation facilities. Does related work as
required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience working in aquatics
with one year in a supervisory capacity
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• A valid State driver's license is required;
- American Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certificate is required;
- First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer is required;
- Water Safety Instructor Certificate is required;
- Possession of Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire date;
- Certification in American Red Cross Emergency Response or equivalent DOT approved First Responder Course within one year
of hire.
