Albany Box Company is a locally owned packaging manufacturer that has been serving customers throughout the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years. We design and manufacture custom shipping crates, industrial packaging, and protective solutions for customers in a variety of industries.

As our company continues to grow, we are looking to add dependable, safety-minded individuals to our Corrugated & Specialty Packaging team.

This is an entry-level position with opportunities to learn valuable manufacturing, production, and packaging skills. We are willing to train the right candidate, but applicants should have basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to work accurately with measurements, production instructions, and manufacturing equipment.

Position Summary

Production Associates manufacture corrugated boxes, foam packaging, dunnage, and specialty packaging products using corrugated materials, foam products, adhesives, and production equipment. Team members work both independently and with others to produce high-quality products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture corrugated boxes, foam packaging, dunnage, and specialty packaging products according to work orders and customer specifications

• Read and interpret tape measurements, dimensions, work instructions, and production documents

• Measure, cut, assemble, glue, and package products accurately

• Safely operate forklifts, box machines, glue machines, flexographic presses, slitters, band saws, die cutters, and other production equipment

• Inspect finished products to verify customer requirements and quality standards are met

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Follow company safety procedures and quality standards

• Work cooperatively with team members while also being able to work independently when needed

• Assist with material handling, loading, staging, and other production duties as required

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Ability to accurately read a tape measure

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, fractions, and decimals

• Ability to follow written work instructions and production documents

• Ability to interpret dimensions and manufacturing specifications accurately

• Dependable attendance and punctuality

• Strong attention to detail and quality

• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment

• Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

Preferred

• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, packaging, assembly, or production experience

• Experience operating production equipment or machinery

• Forklift experience (not required)

• $21.75/hr after completion of 90 days
