What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist - PRN position at Albany Area Primary Health Care, Inc?
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides skill in medication preparation and dosing, and provision of patient specific drug information to include patient specific dosing. Assist in measures of the prevention and reporting of medication errors and adverse drug reactions. Supports quality relationships with health care professionals, families, and patients; and the pharmacist is actively involved in being further educated and providing education in all appropriate ways. The individual will be responsible for pulling and verifying medication orders before they are distributed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews drug orders and/or prescriptions to ensure the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medications.
- Provides outstanding patient care by optimizing medication preparation and resolving medication-related problems.
- Prepares and dispenses medications, provides drug information and manages medication therapy in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and hospital policy.
- Supervises the activities of assigned support personnel and verifying the accuracy and appropriateness of all medications prepared by support personnel prior to dispensing to patients or dispensing to healthcare providers for administration to patients.

- This is a contract position and does not include benefits.
- Weekly hours may vary.
- This position supports pharmacies in both Albany and Leesburg, GA
Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and at least one year of industry experience
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):
- GA Pharmacy license required
