What are the responsibilities and job description for the SQL Database Administrator position at Albano Systems Inc?
This is a 6 month contract-to-hire and needs to meet Client full-time conversion policies. Those dependent on a work permit sponsor now or anytime in the future (ie H1B, OPT, CPT, etc) do not meet Client requirements for this opening.

**MUST BE W2; No Corp-to-Corp**
Senior SQL Server DBA with strong hands-on experience managing primarily on-premises Microsoft SQL Server environments, combined with emerging Microsoft Fabric expertise and a strong background in database automation and DevOps. The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting production databases, performance tuning, HA/DR, security, and disaster recovery while helping modernize DBA processes through CI/CD, scripting, infrastructure-as-code, and automated database deployments.
7 years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience
Strong experience with SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 (or the versions you currently run)
Database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations
Performance tuning: query optimization, indexing, execution plans, wait statistics
Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, particularly: Fabric Data Warehouse
- Lakehouse
- OneLake
- Data pipelines
- SQL endpoints
- Integration between SQL Server and Fabric
Understanding of how traditional SQL Server environments integrate with modern cloud/data platforms. Experience migrating or replicating data from on-prem SQL Server to Fabric/Azure
