We are seeking an experienced API Management Lead to design, develop, and govern enterprise integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. This role will be responsible for leading API strategy and implementation to enable seamless connectivity across critical enterprise systems and AWS-based applications.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in integration patterns, API-led connectivity, and a strong understanding of regulated environments such as biotech, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure APIs using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
- Define and enforce API governance, standards, and best practices across the organization
- Architect and implement integrations between systems such as SAP S/4HANA, AWS services, and other enterprise platforms
- Apply modern integration patterns (e.g., API-led connectivity, event-driven architecture, microservices) to solve complex business challenges
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Oversee the full API lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GxP where applicable)
- Mentor and guide development teams on MuleSoft best practices and integration strategies
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability of integrations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7 years of experience in enterprise integration and API development
- 3 years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
- Strong experience integrating AWS-based applications
- Deep knowledge of integration patterns (e.g., publish/subscribe, request/reply, batch processing, event streaming)
- Experience with RESTful API design, RAML/OpenAPI specifications, and API security (OAuth 2.0, JWT, etc.)
- Proficiency in data transformation (DataWeave) and message formats (JSON, XML)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of system architecture, scalability, and performance optimization
Preferred Qualifications
- MuleSoft certifications (e.g., MuleSoft Certified Developer or Integration Architect)
- Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare industries
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, FDA, or GxP
