WORKING RELATIONSHIP
The MRO Purchasing Planner reports to the MRO Category Manager and works in cooperation with Maintenance Planners and Inventory Control. They have contact with multiple departments within the organization; helping identify and source items needed for the facility. Their tasks also put them in contact with all levels of leadership within the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in negotiating initial pricing, price changes, quantity discounts, vendor stock holds, and other terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain the best pricing.
- Assist in sourcing and onboarding new vendor relationships as well as developing existing relationships.
- Support escalated supplier issues in terms of delivery and quality by working with MRO Category Manager.
- Maintain working professional relationships with all suppliers.
- Represents Albanese Confectionery Group and the Albanese family in vendor partnership relationships and promotes a firm and fair environment creating win-win long terms relationships.
- Review suppliers and take correct action to improve the performance of non-performing suppliers.
- Obtain samples, product information, pricing, and product specifications as needed.
- Assist with creating equipment BOM’s
- Maintain and update supplier and part information
- Investigate invoice purchase price variance.
- Process requisitions and purchase orders for MRO inventory related items.
- Monitors inventory levels, preventing shortages, backorders, and excess stock.
- Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in ERP system including expediting and rescheduling open purchase orders to suit Maintenance requirements.
- Monitors receiving of inventory; assists with damaged items and shortages/overages.
- Assist with ERP improvements and KPI data collection/presentation.
- Availability to provide after-hours support to Maintenance, Production, Engineering, MRO Manager, etc. as needed.
- Maintain, update, and report on procurement KPI’s.
- Works in a multidisciplinary team including, but not limited to Maintenance, Engineering, and Accounts Payable.
- Develop policies and procedures as part of the procurement team.
- Review and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Complete special projects and assignments as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS

- 3 years’ experience in purchasing, inventory control, materials planning preferred but not required.
- Great verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma is required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
