Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to inspire and educate students in a dynamic classroom environment. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating instructional design principles and educational best practices.
  • Deliver engaging lessons in biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences, utilizing laboratory experiments, dissection techniques, and scientific research methods.
  • Incorporate learning technology and IT-integrated lessons to enhance student engagement and understanding of complex concepts such as calculus, differential equations, and molecular biology.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through strong classroom management skills, ensuring a positive learning environment for teenagers with varied learning styles.
  • Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and participation in accordance with educational compliance regulations.
  • Mentor students academically and personally, offering guidance on higher education pathways, research opportunities, and educational planning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development that emphasizes organic chemistry, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, and other specialized science topics.
  • Stay current with advancements in scientific research and laboratory techniques by engaging in ongoing professional development and research activities.
  • Support school initiatives related to science fairs, library services for research projects, and extracurricular STEM programs.

Experience

  • Proven teaching experience at the secondary level with teenagers across diverse classrooms; private school experience is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated expertise in science disciplines including biology (cell biology, genetics, microbiology), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (geometry, trigonometry), and mathematics (algebra, calculus).
  • Strong background in laboratory experience including dissection techniques, microbiology procedures, molecular biology experiments, and research laboratory work.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development tailored to various learning styles; adept at implementing IT-enhanced lessons that meet educational standards.
  • Experience working with special education needs or behavior management strategies is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and educational compliance requirements for secondary education settings.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively; skilled in instructional design and mentoring students through academic challenges.
  • Prior experience in higher education teaching or research laboratories enhances your ability to bring real-world insights into the classroom.
