Department: Project Development and Key Accounts Wage Range: $90k to 94k Depending on Experience

Position Summary
This position functions as the assistant to the department Project Manager and provides limited support to other Key Accounts staff in a dynamic setting where priorities change quickly requiring flexibility and ability to respond accordingly. Support the department Project Manager on design and construction projects in excess of one million dollars. Work as lead on design and construction projects up to one million dollars in value. Travel to communities via small single engine aircraft to inspect and or oversee construction work.
Responsibilities And Duties
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, or related discipline, and three or more years of experience in project management, technical writing, and ensuring chain of custody and compliance with complex projects. 10 years of directly related project control/ management experience and hold Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) credential can be substituted for education.
Certification: None required.
Preferred: Experience with construction of electrical utility facilities, plat drawings, design surveys, land records and field work. CAPM or PMP certification.
Other: Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities And Duties
- Assist project manager with project tracking, record keeping, budget, change order preparation, close-out, operation manuals and substantial completion certificates for construction projects.
- Responsible for meeting minutes, bid opening, and other duties as assigned.
- Manage all design and construction projects under one million dollars under the direct supervision of the department Project Manager.
- Work closely with consultants for design and construction services. Prepare and execute Task Orders for design and construction projects. Keep Task Order log updated. Track budgets and schedules.
- Collaborate with Department Grant Accountant for reporting requirements and meeting reporting deadlines to State, Federal or other funding sources as assigned on a project-by-project basis.
- Assist department staff with facilitating village business plan development, grant funding, and acquisition of site control as assigned on a project-by-project basis.
- Work with Engineering and Operations on an as needed basis to coordinate design and construction efforts.

- When in field:
- Travel on foot, all-terrain vehicles, open boats, single engine aircraft, and other available on-site transportation in remote arctic villages and environs for the purpose of meeting with contractors and checking on projects
- May be exposed to adverse weather conditions, cold, and icy conditions
- Office environment:
- Comfortable surroundings – primarily office environment
- Shared office environment to promote collaboration but with potential distracting noises and conversations
- Primary work interface through computer with display, keyboard, and mouse; and telephone
- Normally a 40-hour work week, overtime may be required
