The Training & Technical Assistance Coordinator supports Alaska’s health centers by planning, implementing, managing, and reporting on training and technical assistance (T/TA) initiatives. This position will facilitate ongoing online communities on the MyAPCACommunity platform related to topic areas such as human resources recruitment and retention, health center operations, and health professions education. This position is also responsible for procuring training resources in accordance with APCA procurement policies and procedures.
This position emphasizes strategic planning, implementation, partner and subject matter expert engagement, logistics execution, performance tracking, and grant compliance. The role requires strong analytical skills, creative thinking, proactive troubleshooting and attention to detail to ensure successful execution of training and technical assistance activities.

Travel Required
In-city travel by personal vehicle for meetings, tasks, and errands as needed. In-state travel may occur. Mileage is reimbursed per APCA policy.
Hours per Week
This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week. Generally, hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Position includes a combination of remote and in-person work.
Occasional travel may be required to support training or technical assistance activities.
In office attendance of at least 8 hours per week required.

Training And Technical Assistance:
- Serve as point of contact for APCA’s prioritized focus on health center operations including human resources recruitment and retention, health professions education, and population health
- Develop and implement plans to address health center operations training & technical assistance activities.
- Conduct needs analysis to identify training priorities and design responsive learning strategies for health center staff.
- Anticipate future training and technical assistance needs and adjust training & technical assistance activities as needed in collaboration with department leadership
- Manage logistics for training and technical assistance activities, including scheduling, speaker coordination, materials, and participant communications.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with health center staff and related community organizations. Travel within the state to health centers as needed to provide technical assistance.
- Identify and engage subject matter experts (SME) and partners to support training content and delivery.
- Procure SME services according to APCA procurement policies.
- Implement follow-up technical assistance activities, analyze participation data, and evaluate outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify and resolve risks, issues, and challenges affecting the implementation and outcomes of training and technical assistance initiatives; develop strategies to mitigate them and troubleshoot as needed.
- Manage projects to ensure all assigned grant objectives and outcome metrics are met including timely completion of required reports and documentation.
- Plan, track, implement, and support reporting of assigned project or grant work plan or project deliverables.
- Establish and prioritize tasks and objectives to manage time and resources appropriately.
- Plan and organize training event content and other events, anticipating health center needs.
- Provide input on grant workplans and budgets to support health centers’ needs, including recommending changes.
- Monitor project outcomes and recommend changes based on results.
Qualifications / Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, education, nonprofit management, workforce development, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience coordinating projects, trainings, technical assistance activities, or grant-funded programs
- Experience managing logistics and coordination for meetings, trainings, webinars, or events
- Experience tracking deliverables and maintaining documentation for reporting or compliance purposes
- Familiarity with grant-funded work environments and required reporting practices
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Experience working with external partners, vendors, or subject matter experts
