Summary: Under the limited supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager this position will be responsible for functioning as a lead liaison by performing quality audits to instrumentation accuracy, assuring sterilization of equipment and instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Prepares operating room case carts, sterile trays and supplies for all areas of the hospital and assumes responsibility to ensure staff assignments are being carried out for daily operation of the department.
Responsibilities:
Directs and assists the daily task assignments for completion of work each day. Prepares, reviews, and revises documents to meet all quality standards. Monitors and maintains training requirements to assure completion of facility and department standards.
A ssures that inventory activities and reports are monitored weekly. Decontaminates, restocks and assembles case carts and surgical trays. Ensures specialty carts are stocked and ready for immediate use.
P repares accurate reports of revisions and modifications as required. Assists with immediate need requests from all units daily. Works with daily, weekly and monthly reports to assure quality performance standards are completed.
P erforms quality control through routine testing and cleaning to assure sterilization equipment and instruments are functioning properly. Inspects equipment, instruments, and packaging for cleanliness, defects and/or sterilization records.
P erforms quality checks and follow up education.
P erforms other duties as assigned.

M INIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
A high school diploma or GED equivalent. Progressively responsible professional work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
M INIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
N on-supervisory - Five (5) years Sterile Processing or Operating Room Technician experience. An equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for experience.
M INIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
C urrent HSPA Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification.
C urrent HSPA Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) certification.
H SPA Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) certification, must be obtained during the first year in this position and remain current.
