Summary

Under close supervision, performs landscaping and snow removal of assigned grounds and parking lots, performs general labor duties, expedites and purchases materials for various trade shops. Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Responsibilities

Performs routine maintenance tasks. Operates motorized vehicles, equipment and hand tools to perform majority of job duties. Purchases and maintains documentation of materials. Expedites materials for various trade shops.

Assists trade shops with special projects as needed. Relocates and sets up offices: moves boxes, equipment and filing cabinets. Sets up conference rooms and tables for special functions. Crushes and disposes of cardboard boxes.

Coordinates with snow removal and landscaping contractors to ensure contracted services are completed.

Performs renovation of outside grounds to include landscaping and snow removal.

Ensures parking lots and smoking areas are free of debris and ice. Removes weeds and moss on rooftops. Ensures a clean and safe environment by following safety precautions and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

  • Knowledge of safety precautions when operating motorized vehicles, equipment and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of landscaping and snow removal.
  • Knowledge of transporting and disposing items of varying compounds, textures or quantities.
  • Skill in operating motorized vehicles, equipment and hand tools.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

A high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum Experience Qualification

Non-supervisory – Six (6) months of grounds maintenance experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.

Supervisory – None

Additional Requirements

Maybe required to possess an Alaska driver’s license with a clean driving record and forklift certification.
