What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance (this is not a Glacier position) position at Alaska Icefield Expeditions Inc?
Maintenance crew work & live on the ground, with some visits to camps as needed.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining and repairing our fleet of company vehicles, ranging from SUVs, to vans and trucks, and include some diesel vehicles.
Maintaining and repairing small engines such as snow machines, pressure washers & generators.
Basic construction & building repair. This can range from building outbuildings, walkways and fencing, to basic plumbing, roofing and electrical work.
Yard care and maintenance: lawnmowing and weed whacking company properties on a regular basis.
Moving large supply loads to and from camps, either via a helicopter sling load, or truck/trailer.
Any other duties as needed by the Project Manager and Base Manager.
This position is very independent, and therefore requires organization and time management skills, as well as record keeping. Consistent communication with the Project Manager and Base Manager are essential. Repeated heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds is required. You will also need to be eligible for a TSA badge (which we will facilitate) and have a valid drivers license with a clean record, and obtain a DOT health card in order to drive a company vehicle.
If hired, you will be required to pass a background and drug test prior to beginning your employment.
