Medical Billing & Coding Specialist

We’re excited to share that our clinic is looking for a skilled Medical Billing & Coding Specialist to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee billing operations: charge entry, claims, payment posting, AR, denials, appeals, refunds
• Manage revenue cycle to reduce AR days, minimize denials, and maximize collections
• Act as coding expert (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and ensure compliance
• Review and resolve claim rejections; implement process improvements
• Partner with physicians, staff, and hospitals to ensure accurate documentation
• Conduct audits to maintain billing accuracy and compliance
• Report AR, denials, collections, and other key metrics to Administrator
• Stay current on payer rules and billing regulations
• Collaborate with AthenaOne/EMR support for workflow optimization
• Ensure HIPAA and compliance standards in all billing processes

Required Qualifications:

• AthenaOne experience
• Proven billing/coding experience in a physician or surgical practice
• Strong knowledge of revenue cycle and AR management
• Track record of reducing denials and improving collections
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver
• Strong communication skills with physicians, staff, hospitals, and payers
• Ability to analyze data and present insights
• Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPC (Certified Professional Coder)

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
