About the Team

The adult outpatient clinic in Fairbanks are made of a multi-disciplinary team who work together to provide comprehensive behavioral healthcare services to adults who experience mental health challenges or life stressors. Our Clinicians treat a wide range of mental health needs, including grief and loss, addictions, relationships, trauma, serious mental illnesses (such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and depression) using evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a role model to persons in crisis to inspire hope, share lived experiences, and promote lessons learned as a person in recovery.
  • Work in partnership with Master’s-level Clinicians, other Peer Support Specialists, and Clinical Associates across various community programs to support individuals in need.
  • Assist with building engagement and utilizing appropriate levels of care in the least restrictive possible setting, while facilitating access to care to available supports.
  • Responsible for accurately documenting all activities within 24 hours within the Electronic Health Record and HMIS system.
  • Required ability to operate a company vehicle to respond to and provide transportation to individuals in need across the Fairbanks area.

  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt
  • Pay Range is between $19.23 and $24.89 (Eligible for up to $6,000 in incentive with the average being $2,300)

What We Need from You

  • You have a high school diploma or GED
  • You have personal life experience in recovery from mental illness, or substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders and are comfortable sharing your personal life experiences surrounding recovery in a way that offers support to those you will serve
  • To be eligible for this role, candidates must have successfully completed Jen Galvan’s Peer Support Specialist training.
