Freight Agent
Alaska Air Transit is hiring for our part-time Freight Agent position.
We are a community-oriented small business based in Merrill Field, Anchorage and we are looking for a hard-working team player to be a key member of our organization.
This position requires a strong focus on customer service and communication.
Experience with computers, including word processing and email, is also essential for this role.
Position Responsibilities
- Receive and organize all freight delivered to our facility.
- Manage freight sent on each flight.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure on-time flight departures.
- Communicate customer freight related requests/requirements to team members.
- Operate forklift safely around facility and aircraft.
- Assist customers with Freight/Cargo inquiries.
- Assist Customer Service Team with passenger Check-In process.
- Learn and use our digital reservation software.
- Assist customers in boxing and delivering freight.
Position Environment
- Immersion in the culture of Alaska aviation.
- Work with experienced pilots, as well as a stellar team of flight operations, maintenance, and ramp staff, many of whom are aspiring pilots.
- Learn more about rural Alaska, its communities, and the many companies that conduct business in remote locations.
- Fast Paced work tempo.
