Position Overview
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the company’s financial operations across a multi-branch distribution environment.
This role provides leadership in the monthly close process, financial analysis, and compliance, while partnering cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership to support data-driven decision-making and scalable growth. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in strengthening financial discipline, improving processes, and supporting AlarMax’s continued expansion.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights to leadership
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP
- Support management reporting and business performance analysis
2. General Ledger & Close Process
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain supporting schedules and documentation
- Ensuretimelyandaccuratefinancial reporting
3. Audit & Compliance
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
- Assistin implementation of audit recommendations
4. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assistwith annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
- Analyze financial trends and support planning initiatives
- Partner with branch and operational leaders to align financial goals
5. Process Improvement & Systems
- Identifyand implement improvements in accounting processes and workflows
- Support ERP system enhancements and optimization
- Improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with operations, sales, and leadership teams
- Providefinancial insights to support business decisions
- Mentor and review work of staff accountants as needed
- Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in distribution, wholesale, or multi-location environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems
