Hybrid Accounting Manager

$55.00 per Hour | 8-Month Contract Assignment

Alan J. Blair Personnel is partnering with a respected San Francisco-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Bay Area residents. We are seeking an Interim Accounting Manager to join their friendly and collaborative Finance team for an 8-month contract assignment.
This is an outstanding opportunity to step into a leadership role where your expertise will directly support an organization making a tangible difference in the community. You'll work alongside a collaborative leadership team, oversee key accounting functions, and help ensure the financial health of an organization with an important mission.
What You'll Do
- Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
- Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
- Partner with Finance leadership on reporting, process improvements, and special projects
- Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Serve as a key contributor during a critical period of organizational growth and impact
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or supervisory accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation preferred
- Non-profit accounting experience is highly desirable
- Experience with restricted funds accounting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV
- Experience with systems such as Bill.com, Expensify, Tipalti, or Asset Panda
