Janitor / Custodian

Job Description

**Position Summary:**

We seek a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Janitor/Custodian. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility, both indoors and outdoors.

• Minimum Starting Salary:** $18.00 to $20.00 per hour - depending on experience
  
  

Essential Functions

• Maintain cleanliness in the yard, shop, breakroom, restrooms, and other common areas.
• Clean floors and production areas as needed.
• Remove debris from the yard and around buildings.
• Empty trash and recycling bins regularly.
• Follow health and safety regulations while handling cleaning chemicals and performing maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
• Basic maintenance and repair skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and proper usage.
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
  
  

Qualifications

**Minimum Qualifications:**

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Forklift experience is required.
• Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance or minor repairs is preferred.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Frequent prolonged standing, be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
• Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual agility, coordination, and stamina.
