We are seeking an experienced Truck Equipment Repair Technician to work in beautiful Skowhegan, Maine!
Position Summary
As a Truck Equipment Repair Technician / Installer, you’ll join a skilled team focused on truck equipment installation, repair, and maintenance. You'll work on hydraulic systems, electrical installations, fabrication, and mechanical systems used in plow trucks, dump bodies, tanks, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-house and on-site service and repair of truck equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures.
- Inspect, fabricate, and repair hydraulic systems and components.
- Install and test electrical systems (wiring, switches, control boxes).
- Perform welding and metal fabrication tasks as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and documentation compliance.
- Participate in installation projects and customer equipment demonstrations.
- Complete all paperwork and equipment logs accurately.
- Travel for training, certification, or job completion as needed (occasional overnight stays).
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Technical degree (2 years preferred) in welding, mechanics, or hydraulics.
- 3 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- CDL Class B (or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame).
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems, and fabrication.
- Skilled in reading schematics, assembly diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Able to use various shop tools (torches, band saws, electric drills, etc.).
- Competent in using Microsoft Office and mobile diagnostic tools.

- Able to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Additional Requirements
