Material Handler Job Description
Royal Truck & Equipment is looking for a full-time Materials Handler to join our team! Our company has been a leader in the traffic safety industry for more than two decades, with a focus on building crash attenuator trucks (TMA trucks) that are used in highway construction to protect crews in work zones.
Scope
As a material handler this job is to load and unload material from delivery trucks. This may involve using forklifts, cranes, and other required equipment. Also, this role will be required to pull inventory as required and stage for production. This may include using a forklift and other equipment as required. Daily task will include counting material for required cycle counting and reporting information to the material manager. There will also be requirements to perform some assembly type work of loading truck bodies onto chassis. This will involve using cranes and forklift and using air tools. As required this position will also be expected to run equipment for snow removal and work an adjusted schedule if needed to plough snow. Other duties may include some basic assembly and pick-up and delivery of parts to local suppliers. Work Schedule Mon-Thurs 6:00-4:30pm
Essential Job Functions
- Loading and unloading delivery trucks.
- Operating Forklift, cranes, front end loaders
- Driving delivery flatbed.
- Filling out required documentation for kitting and cycle counting.
- Ability to perform physical labor to lift various parts
- Following correct documentation, and count parts on incoming and outgoing packing slips
- Use of basic hand tools.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s)
- Must be able to operate basic tools and air tools
- Follow daily tasks as required to meet daily demand.
- Work outside as required to support material movement (80% outside / 20% inside)
- Work in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Hands-on attitude and ability
- Able to wear personal protective equipment
- Valid Driver’s License
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum Two (2) years of upfitting/vehicle assembly experience or related experience
- Minium of 3 years’ experience in operation of forklifts and cranes
- Physical ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
- Work unscheduled hours as required
