Position Summary:

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of company facilities. This position performs routine cleaning, sanitation, and basic tasks to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe environment for employees, visitors, and operations.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Focus, communicate, encourage and contribute to Safety in all aspects of the job and all company meetings.
- Empty trash and recycling containers
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Replenish supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper
- Follow cleaning schedules and checklists
- Safely use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
- Support special cleaning projects or events as assigned
- Maintain a clean and organized supply/storage area
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
- Attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Understanding of safety practices and proper chemical handling
- Strong organizational skills
- Reliability and strong work ethic
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Dependable with good attendance and time management skills
Working Conditions:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 25–50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Ability to work in environments with dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals
- Indoor facility with occasional outdoor duties
- May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment
- May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or shift work based on operational needs
