Alamo Concrete Products Company, ACP, is headquartered in San Antonio, TX with 8 Divisions throughout the Greater Central/South Texas Region. ACP produces and delivers concrete and operates Aggregate Quarries that supply concrete, aggregate (rock) and sand to the batch plants.
We are hiring a Mechanic for our Houston Division. The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including trucks, mixers, and other heavy machinery.
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, electrical systems, and hydraulic problems.
- Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques.
- Follow all PPE protocols, including proper use, care, and timely replacement.
- Abide by all federal, state and local traffic laws.
- Promptly report any incidents, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Required Skills and Experience:
- More than one year of hands-on experience in diesel engine and heavy transport maintenance.
- Prior experience in servicing and repairing mixer trucks is preferred.
- Valid Texas drivers license and be able to pass an MVR verification.
- Ability to operate a standard transmission vehicle.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen and physical examination.
- Must be able to work overtime, nights, weekends, and early mornings.
- Responsible for providing and maintaining personal tools appropriate for the role.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and shop equipment.
