The Financial Aid Specialist provides standard administrative, technical, and operational duties; including reviewing financial aid information and documentation, organizing and inputting data and information that is used and analyzed by others. This position plays a critical role in the Student Financial Aid (SFA) department and assists with recruitment, student retention, and access to Alamo Colleges. Responsibilities include performing administrative duties and activities that support SFA by maintaining accurate records, resolving financial aid issues, and providing guidance to students and families on available funding sources and eligibility, including grants, loans, work-study programs, and scholarships.
This position updates, maintains, reviews and corrects highly sensitive data with the U.S. Department of Education federal sites, and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations through accurate documentation. Able to troubleshoot and solve complex student issues, this includes researching and providing resolutions and conducting financial aid workshops or one-on-one counseling sessions. Willing to support the SFA’s operational needs.

- Associate's degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
- One year of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of full-time directly related experience.
- Bilingual.
