Job Summary and Description
Teaching faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the District mission of providing a quality education for all students attending the colleges. Categories include full-time, temporary with benefits, and temporary without benefits. Full-time faculty members are classified according to the ranks of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Faculty members are responsible to a department/program chairperson. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning. Faculty members will uphold the mission and values of the colleges’ and foster effective working relationships with students and colleagues.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Digital Media, Web Design, Graphic Design, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in front-end web design and production, including HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
- Experience creating and managing social media content across major platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.
- Ability to present professional portfolio demonstrating web design, digital media, and/or social media work.
- Professional industry experience in web design, digital media production, or social media management Experience with UI/UX design principles and tools (e.g., Figma).
- Knowledge of current trends in digital media, social media strategy, and emerging technologies (including AI tools).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to students with varying levels of experience.
- Commitment to teaching, student engagement, and inclusive learning environments
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Digital Media, Web Design, Graphic Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
- Prior teaching or training experience in higher education, workforce development, or industry settings.
- Experience developing curriculum, course materials, or online/hybrid instruction.
Additional Requirements:
- Portfolio required: Candidates must provide a link to an online portfolio showcasing relevant work in web design, digital media, and/or social media campaigns.
- Ability to teach both technical skills and creative problem-solving in a hands-on, project-based environment.
- Willingness to stay current with evolving technologies, platforms, and industry practices.
