QUALIFICATIONS
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
Knowledge of proper methods of preparing and cooking foods in large quantities including sanitation principles applicable to food serving and kitchen maintenance, kitchen machines and utensils used in school cafeterias.
Cooks and bakes skillfully.
One year’s experience in cooking or baking large quantities of foods in commercial or institutional operation.
Operates common mechanical appliances found in a school cafeteria.
Follows oral and written directions.
Estimates food quantities.
Prepares records for accounting purposes.

Director of Food Services/Cafeteria Manager
JOB GOAL
Under general supervision, to prepare and cook entrees, vegetables, fruits and bakery items; to assist in the maintenance of a school cafeteria; and to do related work as required.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Bakes breads, cakes, pies and other pastries.
Cooks meats, sauces, and other main dishes.
Prepares desserts, salads, sandwiches and other foods.

Weighs and measures ingredients accurately.
May assume leadman responsibilities over cafeteria personnel assisting in the preparation of food.
Assists in taking inventory.
As required, assumes cafeteria manager duties in her absence.
Serves food.
Collects and accounts for money received.
Prepares simple reports.
