THE POSITION: The County Relations Liaison serves as the primary point of contact between the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE) and various levels of county and city government, including the Board of Supervisors. This role is pivotal in fostering collaborative governmental relationships, facilitating communication, and aligning county-wide educational and youth-focused initiatives with policies and programs. This job reports to the assigned administrator.
LOCATION: 313 W. Winton Ave. Hayward, CA 94544
TYPICAL DUTIES: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with county and city officials, departments, and agencies to support ACOE's mission and objectives. Serve as a liaison to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and city council members, ensuring timely communication and coordination on matters affecting youth and/or education issues. Monitor local government agendas, legislation, and policy developments pertinent to education and high-needs youth, and advise ACOE leadership accordingly. Coordinate joint initiatives and programs between ACOE and county and city entities to enhance youth services and outcomes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Education, Political Science, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. Experience: Five (5) years of experience in governmental relations, public policy, youth services, or a related area required. Experience in public service is preferred. Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
