Corporate Education Support Specialist

The Corporate Education Support Specialist provides part-time operational and employer-facing support within the Workforce Engagement Department. This position supports Corporate Education and NC Edge initiatives by assisting with project coordination, employer communication for assigned projects, class logistics, marketing efforts, and administrative processes. The role serves as a primary point of contact for routine communications on assigned NC Edge projects and provides operational support for Corporate Education offerings under the oversight of the Corporate Education Coordinator. Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities are essential to success in this role.

NC Edge Project Support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employer partners on assigned NC Edge projects, providing regular communication and customer service.
  • Conduct routine project check-ins to identify employer training needs, gather required information, and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of assigned NC Edge projects by gathering course details, timelines, and logistical information needed to build classes for review and approval.
  • Communicate approved logistical details to instructors supporting assigned NC Edge projects.
  • Respond to routine employer questions regarding NC Edge project requirements, timelines, and expectations, escalating complex issues or approval-related matters as appropriate.

Operational Support
  • Assist with marketing and retention efforts for the NC Edge Program and open-enrollment Corporate Education course offerings, including the development and distribution of promotional materials.
  • Assist in record maintenance to ensure compliance with Corporate Education course documentation requirements.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the NC Edge Program and the Corporate Education contracting process in order to accurately explain program expectations to employers.
  • Assist with data collection and preparation of documentation needed for quarterly and annual reports.

Typical Qualifications
Education and/or Experience

Required
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in business, education, communications, or other related field.
  • Two years of experience providing administrative support, customer service, or program coordination in an educational, workforce development, or business environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn institutional systems.

Preferred
  • Advanced degree (Bachelors level or higher) from a regionally accredited institution
  • Experience working in a community college or continuing education environment.
Experience with marketing support, event coordination, or project management skills or related administrative experience
