What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clerk (Range Comm) position at Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies?
The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Clerk for Range Communications to support our government customer located in Kekaha Hawai’i.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operating under general supervision, this role provides comprehensive administrative support to the Range Communications section, reporting directly to the Range Communications Supervisor. The position requires a proactive approach to drive innovative solutions that enhance overall administrative efficiency. The successful candidate will manage critical operational data, assist with proposals, and serve as a key liaison across departments, requiring occasional travel and logistical support.
Data & Document Management
Updates and maintains Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs). Collects data to upkeep and distribute routine reports, forms, and documents using Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Maintains employee training records and submits certificates to requesting entities.
Operational & Technical Support
Assists in preparing and submitting Contract Task Order proposals, as well as preparing and distributing schedules. Works directly with the Lead Technician to monitor Communications Service Request (CSR) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure timely closeouts. Procures and tracks the status of current Purchase Requests.
Communication & Liaison
Interfaces directly with Customers, Senior Management, and Department Heads. Attend scheduled meetings and briefings. Prepares correspondence for appropriate signatures and transmits them to designated locations.

Logistics & Travel
- Drives to and from remote sites for miscellaneous pickups and deliveries when directed. Although rare, occasional travel may be required including time aboard sea vessels.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree in related field is desired or four (4) years of experience in general business administration may be substituted
- Four (4) years of administration assistance and or general office experience is required.
- Must be able to type 45 wpm (computer keyboard).
- Must be capable of operating calculators, copiers and facsimile machines, personal computers using word-processing, data base and spreadsheet applications and other standard office equipment.
- Knowledge of Range Operations is helpful but not required.
- Must possess the following PC skills: MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Secret security clearance is required. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
