What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - Custom Homes and Renovations position at Alair Homes Green Bay?
Project Manager – Custom Homes & High-End Renovations
Alair Homes Green Bay
Build More Than Beautiful Homes
The best Project Managers don't simply keep projects moving—they build trust.
Trust with homeowners through proactive communication, with trade partners through clear expectations, and with teammates because nothing important falls through the cracks.
At Alair Homes Green Bay, we're looking for a residential Project Manager who genuinely cares about delivering exceptional homes and exceptional client experiences. This is a role for someone who takes ownership, communicates proactively, anticipates challenges before they become problems, and takes pride in delivering projects they're proud to put their name on.
Your Role
You'll own the successful delivery of custom homes and high-end renovations from preconstruction through project completion.
As the Project Manager, you're ultimately accountable for the client experience, financial performance, schedule, communication, and overall execution of every project in your care. You aren't simply coordinating the project—you own the outcome.
The Site Supervisor leads day-to-day field execution. Together, you ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to Alair's standards.
On any given week, you'll:
- Lead custom homes and high-end renovations from preconstruction through project completion, aligning homeowners, designers, trade partners, and the project team around a shared plan.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for homeowners throughout the project.
- Develop project scope, budgets, schedules, and execution plans that create clarity before construction begins.
- Own the financial performance of each project through disciplined budgeting, forecasting, change order management, and proactive decision-making.
- Guide homeowners through planning, selections, design decisions, and change orders while balancing budget, functionality, schedule, and overall client experience.
- Partner with the Architectural Designer, engineers, municipalities, and trade partners to develop accurate, buildable plans and coordinate permitting and project execution.
- Partner with Site Supervisors and the Project Coordinator to keep projects organized, well-communicated, and moving efficiently.
- Address issues early, make sound decisions, and solve problems before they impact the client, budget, schedule, or quality.
- Lead project closeout, final walkthroughs, warranty transition, and the overall client experience.
- Look for opportunities to improve project execution, communication, and the client experience while consistently following established company processes.
This role includes a healthy balance of office collaboration, client meetings, and field involvement. We believe our best work happens when our team is together—sharing ideas, solving problems, and supporting one another.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who thinks like a project leader and business owner. Someone who takes ownership of the outcome, makes sound decisions, communicates proactively, and leads projects with confidence.
You value relationships, believe details matter, and understand that proven processes create consistency for clients, trade partners, and teammates alike.
You communicate proactively so clients and teammates are rarely surprised. You ask good questions before assumptions become mistakes. You address problems directly instead of hoping they'll resolve themselves.
You don't need to reinvent how we work. We're looking for someone who embraces our systems, understands the "why" behind them, executes them consistently, and contributes thoughtful improvements over time.
Qualifications
- Proven success leading residential construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
- Demonstrated history of delivering exceptional client experiences—not simply completing construction projects.
- Strong understanding of residential construction, budgeting, scheduling, change orders, financial management, and project execution.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, financial management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to confidently lead homeowners, designers, Site Supervisors, trade partners, and project teams through both everyday decisions and difficult conversations.
Why Alair Homes Green Bay?
At Alair Homes Green Bay, we believe exceptional homes are built by exceptional people.
We're proud to be a locally owned company that is part of a collaborative network of builders who openly share ideas, best practices, and lessons learned. That collaboration helps us continually raise the standard—not only for our projects, but for ourselves.
Here, you'll have real ownership of your projects—not just responsibility for coordinating them. You'll work with sophisticated custom home and renovation clients who value planning, transparency, and collaboration.
We intentionally maintain manageable project workloads because we believe exceptional Project Managers deserve the opportunity to lead well—not simply manage more projects. You'll be supported by teammates, proven systems, and a culture that values collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
We're not looking for someone to change who we are—we're looking for someone who wants to help us become even better at who we already are.
If you're looking for a place where quality matters, your work makes a difference, and you'll have the opportunity to grow alongside a team committed to excellence, we'd love to hear your story.
