Job Overview
Alachua Methodist Church is seeking a dynamic Worship Leader/Music Minister to help grow a small traditional choir and incorporate periodic contemporary special music.
Ideal candidate must be a strong Christian who feels inspired by the Holy Spirit to encourage and engage an older congregation, coupled with an ability to reach a more youthful demographic by integrating modern music choices with classic, beloved hymns that have graced our sanctuary for over 200 years.
This position requires a musically gifted, vibrant leader who loves all types of Christian music and wants to develop a music ministry in beautiful rural North Florida. Part-time hours, salary commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities include:
-Leading worships services
-Lead weekly rehearsals
-Working with the pastor in picking traditional and modern music to teach choir or praise band weekly
-Developing a praise band will become part of weekly worship
-Coordinate with AV team on any multimedia presentations, slides and sound checks
-Encourage and help develop spiritual growth within the worship team and congregation
Qualifications:
Love the Lord God with all your heart, study and share God’s Word confidently and have a welcoming and joyful personality.
Ability to sing and read music, teach parts and play the piano or guitar
Previous training and or experience in this role required
Creative and innovative flair, willing to think out of the box as this is a unique opportunity.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17,000.00 - $20,000.00 per year
