Traffic Control Crew Leader
Alabama Traffic Systems, Inc.
Are you looking for a long-term career with a company that values quality work, professionalism, and its employees?
Alabama Traffic Systems is seeking an experienced Traffic Control Crew Leader to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll work alongside a small crew while helping ensure our customers receive dependable, professional service on every project.
Unlike many traffic control companies, we do not routinely perform lane closures or flagging operations. Our primary focus is installing temporary traffic control signs and delivering traffic control equipment to construction projects throughout Alabama.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing the job right, communicates well with customers and coworkers, and enjoys working as part of a small team where your contributions make a difference.
What You'll Do
- Lead and work alongside a small field crew.
- Install, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control signs and devices according to approved traffic control plans.
- Deliver, set up, and retrieve traffic control equipment on construction projects.
- Coordinate with contractors and project personnel to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Communicate equipment and material needs to the office.
- Safely operate company trucks and trailers.
- Represent Alabama Traffic Systems professionally on every jobsite.
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in temporary traffic control, highway construction, or a related construction field.
- Previous experience leading a crew or serving as a lead employee is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow traffic control plans.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets the requirements of our commercial automobile insurance carrier.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform the physical requirements of the position.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
- Company-paid single health insurance.
- Paid vacation and paid holidays.
- Stable, full-time employment with consistent work schedules.
- Overtime available when project demands require it.
- Company-provided trucks, tools, equipment, and safety gear.
- Opportunity to grow with a respected, locally owned company.
