Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and providing excellent front desk service
- Schedule and confirm appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Familiar with insurances
- Collect payments and perform medical billing tasks, including CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and documentation review for accuracy
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within EMR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with intake procedures by gathering medical histories, updating care plans, and explaining pre- and post-operative instructions
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure all necessary documentation is complete for procedures and follow-up care
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and efficient scheduling skills
- Support office management tasks such as filing medical records, insurance verification, and maintaining clinic supplies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental or medical office environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical administrative support
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and Medicare guidelines
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10-key typing)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to review documentation thoroughly and manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette in handling patient inquiries
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Dental clinic or office management experience is preferred; clinic experience in oral surgery is a plus
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
