POSITION TITLE: Secretary
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent, General Secretarial knowledge
JOB GOAL: To work with staff, parents, and other local and state agencies.
REPORTS TO: Administrative Staff

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answers and routes phone calls.
- Takes messages.
- Maintains student permanent record files.
- Maintains personnel files.
- Schedules substitutes for teachers and support personnel as needed.
- Calls parents for various concerns.
- Assists the bookkeeper as needed.
- Schedule bus drivers for field trips when teachers are unable to do so.
- Enters data for all student applications.
- Maintains daily attendance records.
- Sorts daily mail
- Assists with out of district registration.
- Administers medication to students.
- Welcomes children and parents to the school.
- Enters individual student discipline referrals.
- Maintains proper certification by attending workshops and professional development courses.
- Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and ethics, working cooperatively with the Board, the Superintendent, administrators, certificated and non-certificated personnel, parents, and students.
- Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Attends all meetings as required by the Superintendent.
- Performs pre-approved co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and other school related duties (hall, lunchroom, playground, drop-off and pick-up, bus, etc.) as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Note: Pertinent to East and West Elementary Schools:
Collects leave forms and prepares monthly payroll.
