POSITION : Itinerant Registered Behavior Technician
REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Special Education Services and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
QUALIFICATIONS :
High school diploma or GED
Current and active application
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification - Required

JOB GOAL :
To assist BCBA, principals, and teachers in effectively implementing high-quality behavioral support services.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assist the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in completing assessments for behavior reduction and skill acquisition programs.
- Assist BCBA in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)/Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with fidelity.
- Provide direct one-on-one or small group services to implement replacement behaviors, social skills, and daily living tasks as outlined in student IEPs/BIPs.
- Ensure all interventions are delivered with high fidelity under the direction of the BCBA.
- Collect and record data to accurately track frequency, duration, and intensity of target behaviors to report progress.
- Regularly communicate with the Behavior Analyst to understand all IEP goals and objectives.
- Incorporate feedback from the Board Certified Behavior Analyst into performance.
- Model evidence-based strategies and provide "real-time" feedback in the classroom setting under the ongoing direction of the BCBA’s supervision.
- Assist in monitoring the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans to minimize behavioral disruptions and maximize student access to academic instruction.
- Utilize district-approved de-escalation and physical intervention techniques (e.g., MCS, etc.) as a primary means of maintain student and staff safety.
- Effectively communicate with stakeholders regarding student progress as instructed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst/Special Education Coordinator.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical behavior.
- Collaborate, communicate, and assist with the training of students, parents, and staff.
- Engage in Registered Behavior Technician requirements to maintain certification as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Travel between district schools to provide flexible support based on district-wide priority and student need, as determined by the BCBA/Coordinator of Special Education.
- Uphold and enforce Talladega County Board of Education policies.
- Promote good public relations for the Talladega County School District.
EVALUATION: Evaluation will be completed by supervisor as outlined for support staff in the Talladega County Board of Education policy.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 182 days – 7 ½ hour work day
