JOB TITLE: Digital Media and AV Systems Specialist
REPORTS TO: Principal & Chief Technology Officer
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Audio-Visual Technology, Digital Media, Information Technology, Communications, Theater Production, or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with and maintaining audio-visual systems, digital signage, multimedia technology, and broadcast/video production platforms, including troubleshooting video boards, sound systems, lighting controls, and digital media systems.
- Working knowledge of digital display technologies, audio mixing systems, lighting systems, and media production equipment.
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or other AV industry certification preferred.
- Experience supporting technology in educational environments preferred.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, teachers, administrators, and community partners.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support school events and productions.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40–50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms when servicing lighting or AV equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the campus for extended periods.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities.
- Manage and maintain all digital video boards located throughout the school.
- Develop, schedule, and upload content including announcements, event promotions, and school highlights.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and student groups to create engaging digital content.
- Monitor video board performance and troubleshoot display issues.
- Support classroom video boards and instructional display systems.
- Maintain and assist with the EPIC communication system and campus announcement infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot AV equipment used for presentations, assemblies, and instructional purposes.
- Coordinate with the district technology department when additional technical support is required.
- Operate and maintain sound, lighting, and video systems in the school theater.
- Provide technical support for performances, presentations, assemblies, and school productions.
- Assist staff and students in the use of theater production equipment.
- Provide audio-visual support for major school events including ceremonies, guest speakers, performances, and presentations.
- Ensure proper setup and operation of sound, lighting, and video equipment for campus events.
- Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and media systems.
- Monitor system functionality and coordinate repairs when needed.
- Assist with planning and implementation of future upgrades to digital media and AV infrastructure.
- Support student media production opportunities when appropriate.
- Maintain documentation related to system configurations and operational procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or District Technology Department.
Salary/Term : As per 10-month teacher salary schedule
