Contract Length: 12 Months (235 days/8 hours per day)
Job Summary
The Data Enrollment Specialist supports the district’s centralized enrollment process by accurately processing student registrations and maintaining student data. This position ensures compliance with state requirements and provide customer service to families during enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in data entry, records, management, or school office support preferred
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality I accordance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
Essential Duties
- Process new and returning student enrollment applications
- Verify required documentation (residency, birth certificate, immunizations, etc.)
- Enter and maintain accurate student data in the student information system
- Ensure compliance with Alabama State Department of Education requirements
- Assist families with enrollment and resolve application issues
- Collaborate with school personnel to ensure proper student placement
- Perform data audits and correct discrepancies
- Maintain confidentiality of student records
- Provide support during peak enrollment periods
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
- Ability to work with diverse populations in a professional manner
- Basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions
- Office environment with frequent public interaction
- May require extended hours during peak enrollment periods
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively in both languages
- Light lifting may be required
Terms of Employment
- 12-month contract (235 days/8 hours per day)
- Salary established by the local Board of Education salary schedule
- Evaluation in accordance with Board policy and Alabama State Department of Education guidelines
