CAD Drafter Job Overview:
Designs and prepares detailed electronic (CAD) working plans, charts and/or scale drawings for complex projects. Transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents. Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

Compensation commensurate with education and/or experience.
CAD Drafter Required Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Design, Architecture or a related field with course work in computer-aided design or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 1 to 2 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2D/3D experience
Qualifications of CAD Drafter:
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of electrical drafting practices and standards
- Ability to read electrical diagrams, including layout planning and BOM creation.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work
Responsibilities of CAD Drafter:
- Designs and prepares detailed electronic (CAD) working plans, charts and/or scale drawings for complex projects.
- Prepares electronic layouts, charts, detailed scale drawings and material and equipment requirements from sketches, specifications and standard layouts provided by customers, consultants, and/or departmental contacts.
- Makes basic computation to determine layout of charts, strength of materials and requirements for structural design.
- Revises computer-aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction.
