What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) – Birmingham, Alabama position at Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors?
About The Job
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) – Birmingham, Alabama
We Are Seeking An Experienced Professional Land Surveyor
to join our established surveying operation in Birmingham, Alabama.
This is an opportunity for an experienced surveyor who wants to take a meaningful role in an established business without necessarily being tied to a traditional office schedule every day. We are open to discussing a
hybrid work arrangement
for the right person.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience with
construction and site surveying
and be comfortable overseeing survey work from the field crew through final deliverables.
What We're Looking For
Birmingham, Alabama preferred
Schedule
Full-time; potential hybrid arrangement available
License
Alabama PLS required — active or eligible for reactivation
We are particularly interested in someone who enjoys the practical side of surveying and understands construction sites — not simply someone looking for a review position. We are a small company, not a cube farm of cad draftsman.
Compensation will be competitive and based on experience, qualifications and the level of responsibility the candidate is prepared to take on.
If you are an Alabama-licensed surveyor who may be interested — or you know someone who would be a strong fit — please reach out directly for a confidential conversation.
