SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the development of cost estimates. Including, but not limited to, engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, installation, testing, commissioning, warranty, and project close-out support activities. Performs under the direction of the Division Estimating Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Review and comprehension of specifications, drawings, and other technical data.
- Develop an itemized listing of required work tasks based on the review.
- Develop craft man-hours and material requirements for work items assigned, including indirect costs for each work item to determine the total cost of the scope.
- Develop and issue sub-contract and material solicitations per the scope requirements.
- Make high-level decisions and complete in-depth research in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- In place of a degree: minimum ten (10) years as a Marine Estimator, combined with coursework or other technical training that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform required tasks.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily demonstrate the following:
- Ability to function and communicate in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in site, manpower, and equipment requirements.
- Competency in the evaluation of functional and detailed design drawings.
- Knowledge of repair and fabrication methods in a marine environment.
- Ability to determine labor and material requirements from drawings, specifications, and technical data that may, at times, have limited detail.
- Ability to coordinate with craft leads, vendors, and subcontractors.
