Physician Assistant

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our Medical Department. This position provides comprehensive medical care and treatment to patients under the supervision of a physician. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality care, particularly to underserved and low-income populations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform physical examinations and preventive health assessments in accordance with physician guidelines.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient health conditions.
• Document clinical findings and develop appropriate care plans and prognoses.
• Prepare comprehensive patient care plans and submit them for periodic physician review.
• Recommend medications and therapeutic treatments such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, and related procedures.
• Counsel patients on substance abuse, healthy lifestyle practices, communicable disease prevention, and more.
• Refer patients to supervising physicians or specialty providers when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered to practice as a Physician Assistant in Alabama or a state with reciprocity.
• Certified Physician Assistant with at least six years of combined education and experience.
• Licensed through the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners as a Certified Physician Assistant.
• Must maintain a collaborative practice agreement per current Board of Medical Examiners regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective medical care to lower-income populations.
• Valid Alabama Driver’s License and insurable driving record.

• Sound clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to counsel and guide patients and their families effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, healthcare staff, and community members.
