Description
The Staff Accountant performs professional accounting duties in support of the overall financial health of the Credit Union. The Staff Accountant will post journal entries, reconcile accounts, identify and research outages, and perform other accounting functions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Reviews and verifies journal entries
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits and regulatory examinations
- Maintains record keeping and accounting systems
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience in accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exhibit ability to provide excellent Member service
Preferred Qualifications:
-CPA
-Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and one to three years of accounting experience
-Strong understanding of GAAP
