ABOUT THIS POSITION:This position is for working as a substitute teacher for the RISE Together Preschool and Short-Term Programs departments located on AIDB North in Decatur, Alabama. This position will assist with summer and school-year courses.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Alabama Teaching Certificate or Alabama Substitute License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with children with disabilities.
- Experience in an educational or childcare setting.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs duties in the absence of full-time AIDB staff as required for the position, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Assumes responsibility for instructing classes when a teacher is absent.
- Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior during instructional periods, lunch, and other activities.
- Must adhere to confidentiality requirements.
- Must be able to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.
- Must be able to physically assist students in wheelchairs and/or students with physical disabilities as their needs dictate, including the ability to lift fifty (50) pounds.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Upon being offered employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB."
SALARY: $12.24 Alabama Substitute License
$20.40 Alabama Teacher Certification or AIDB Retired Teacher with a Substitute
License
