Job summary
Alabama Getaway is hiring a hands-on Assistant Housekeeping Manager to work under our Housekeeping Manager and support the daily operation of our vacation-rental housekeeping department. This is primarily a field-based role focused on helping the housekeeping team, responding to needs as they come up, keeping turnovers moving, and coaching team members when additional guidance is needed. The right person is dependable, approachable, organized, and willing to jump in wherever the day requires.
What you will do
- Work primarily in the field to support housekeepers and inspectors throughout the day.
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager with day-to-day operations, changing priorities, and unexpected needs.
- Check on active turnovers and keep the team moving toward on-time arrivals.
- Deliver supplies, linens, equipment, or other support when the housekeeping staff needs assistance.
- Review completed work, callbacks, photos, and inspection findings to identify coaching needs.
- Provide respectful, practical coaching and follow up with team members when standards are missed.
- Help train new housekeepers and reinforce Alabama Getaway cleaning protocols in the field.
- Coordinate with Guest Services, Maintenance, Laundry, and inspectors when an issue affects property readiness.
- Assist with owner arrivals, deep cleans, quality checks, and off-season projects.
- Step into a property and help with cleaning, touch-ups, or problem-solving when needed.
- Keep the Housekeeping Manager updated on staffing concerns, repeat issues, property delays, and team needs.

Schedule and compensation
Schedule: Full-time, year-round field position. Weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours are required during high-volume periods.

Requirements
- Previous vacation-rental experience preferred; housekeeping or inspection experience strongly preferred.
- Experience training, coaching, or supporting team members preferred.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to visit properties throughout Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
- Ability to lift and carry housekeeping supplies and perform physical cleaning work when needed.
- Strong organization, judgment, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Comfort using messaging, task-management, checklist, and photo-documentation tools.
