What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Expeditor- PRN position at Alabama Eye Surgery Center?
We are seeking a PRN Surgical Expeditor (Patient Care Tech) to assist our nursing staff with patients in the preoperative and PACU areas of an eye surgery center. Candidates must be able to handle various responsibilities safely and be able to efficiently work in a fast-paced environment. BLS is required for this role.
Work days are Thursdays and Fridays only.
Necessary Skills:
o Above average communication skills - must be able to effectively communicate and interact with patients, their family members, fellow employees, physicians, and other internal/external personnel from diverse backgrounds
o Critical Thinking- must be able to assess, prioritize, plan and implement tasks effectively.
o Professional Attitude
o Assist patients to wheelchair after surgery
o Stocking of supplies in Preoperative and PACU areas
o Cleaning of patient beds and all equipment after each patient
o Removing dirty linens from patient care areas and placing in appropriate designated area
o Restock blanket warmer
o Assist staff in Preop/PACU as needed and directed
o Reports significant patient information to staff appropriately.
o Actively participates, develops, and implements activities and measures promoting quality care.
