Duties

• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive cost estimates for civil projects.
• Utilize estimating software such as Planswift and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bids and proposals.
• Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground data, assess project scope, and verify quantities.
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure favorable pricing and terms.
• Prepare and analyze bid packages, ensuring all aspects of project costs—including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead—are accurately accounted for.
• Monitor project budgets during execution to maintain cost control and identify potential overruns early.
• Assist in contract negotiations and review contractual documents to ensure alignment with project goals and scope.
• Support project management teams by providing cost insights, risk assessments, and value engineering recommendations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating within heavy civil or general construction environments.
• Preferred understanding or experience with DOT projects and biding.
• Strong knowledge of construction management processes, contracts, and project lifecycle from bidding through completion.
• Proficiency with estimating tools such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam is highly preferred.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols to accurately assess project requirements.
• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents clearly.
• Solid understanding of cost control measures, pricing strategies, and budget management techniques.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
