• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, plus…

• Graduation from a recognized seminary or school of theology.

• Completion of a one-year internship in a formal clinical pastoral training program.

• Ordination as a clergyman in an established church. KIND OF WORK

• Conducts and directs weekly religious activities for patients of Bryce Hospital.

• Plans and conducts weekly therapeutic groups based on religious principles and provides documentation.

• Conducts patient funerals and memorial services.

• Develops and manages pastoral relationships, counseling, teaching religion and providing religious/clerical assessments.

• Makes pastoral visits, counseling with patients during times of grief, hardship, personal turmoil and spiritual need as requested.

• Responsible for pastoral care and worship at the Taylor Hardin Secure Medical Facility.

• Attends treatment planning conferences as requested.

• Completes patient assessments for entrance and advancement in the Levels program.

• Organizes and leads off-campus trips and events for Level 3 patients once each quarter. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of the rights, challenges, and concerns affecting individuals with serious mental illnesses.

• Knowledge of state, federal, and ADMH policies and procedures.

• Skill in communicating, both verbally and in writing.

• Ability to maintain accurate records.

• Ability to interact with culturally diverse groups of people including families, patients, other professionals, and community agencies in a courteous and professional manner

• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work activities. METHOD OF SELECTION
